After each year of hard work, the Verdin team submits their best work in hopes of getting recognized with industry awards. Recently the team received some exciting news from the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Central California chapter!
PRSA is a national organization that sets public relations industry standards and creates a community of communications professionals both locally and nationally. Verdin has been a proud member of the Central California Chapter since our founding in 2003. PRSA’s prominence within the industry makes it a huge honor and extremely validating for the firm to be recognized for its efforts.
At this year’s PRSA Image Awards, the Verdin team brought home two awards of merit for their work on the Jack’s Helping Hand “Helmets4Helmets” campaign and the Ventura County Coast “Find Your Vibe” campaign.
Being award-winning campaigns are not the only thing the two have in common, both campaigns reached millions. That being said, both campaigns were extremely unique in what they required of the team.
“Helmets4Helmets” was mainly focused on getting earned media. The clients for this campaign, two young boys trying to help pay for medical gear for kids in need with the money raised auctioning off helmets signed by professional athletes, already provided a great story. Verdin’s role was to figure out how to best showcase the story in order to get the attention of local and national news. The campaign was a resounding success and has led to the growth of Helmets4Helmets into its own national charity.
The “Find Your Vibe” campaign was a whole other animal dealing with controlled media. For this project, Verdin worked with a local production company to create videos that captured the essence of what makes the Ventura County Coast a spot worthy of your vacation time. This campaign also exceeded expectations, performing extremely well, upping brand awareness and helping the region to be recognized as a tourist destination.
Moving forward in 2019 with fresh excitement, the team is committed to another year of work worthy of recognition.
