The American Advertising Awards, formerly called the Addy Awards, were held this week in Santa Barbara with Verdin taking home a total of eight awards, including two Gold Awards and a Best of Show. In all, Verdin won: four Bronze Awards, one Silver Award, two Gold Awards, and one Best of Show Award.
Verdin won a Gold Award and Best of Show for the San Luis Obispo Sheriff Public Service Announcements as a part of the #preparedSLO campaign. The PSAs were part of an effort by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Task Force on Public Safety to help SLO residents be more prepared in case of an emergency.
Verdin also won a Gold Award for the 24-Hour Give Event Card, an event in which Verdin employees dedicated and donated 24 hours to rebranding Op C.O.Y. formerly Operation C.O.Y.). a local non-profit that takes at-risk youths and puts them on the path to success by using a sports-oriented approach to give them the tools they need to succeed. An entire rebrand including changing the name to Op C.O.Y., creating a new logo, tagline, collateral (including business cards, letterhead, brochures, etc.), and revamping their social media, marketing plan, and advertising (including buying radio spots for them). ALL in 24 hours.
Other awards taken home by Verdin include a Silver Award for the UCSB Public Affairs “Keep Isla Vista Safe” Campaign. The campaign, aimed to keep out-of-town college students away from UCSB for the annual Halloween parties in Isla Vista. Verdin also took home four Bronze Awards for the branding for the city of Cayucos, the SLO Sheriff’s website, Dignity Health Marian Regional Medical Center Foundation’s Innovations Magazine, and the Dignity Health Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation’s Annual Report.
