When a 2014 report from the World Business Academy indicated that instances of certain types of cancers were increasing in San Luis Obispo County, Ecologistics, Inc., a local nonprofit, became concerned that parts of the population may not be getting early detections and screenings as they needed. Ecologistics created SLO Down Cancer, an outreach program encouraging SLO County citizens to get screened, and partnered with the Noor Clinic to provide screening for uninsured citizens.
Ecologistics works to make San Luis Obispo sustainable both environmentally and economically. Ecologistics has created programs and projects to serve the needs of SLO County residents. They are organizing the Salinas River Symposium in Paso Robles next January, put on the annual Central Coast Bioneers Conference, and offer fiscal sponsorships to groups undergoing projects that align with their vision for an environmentally healthy and resilient community.
Ecologistics encourages residents of San Luis Obispo County to call today to schedule a doctor appointment for every family member. Early detection greatly increases the chances for successful cancer treatment.
