Good dental care increases overall quality of life. Dental checkups in a child’s early years are critical for preventing tooth decay, cavities, and other forms of dental problems that can lead to pain and infection. Unfortunately, due to the cost of dental care, many low-income families do not take their children to the dentist until there is an urgent need, or they go without.
The Tolosa Children’s Dental Foundation (previously “Partnership for the Children – Tolosa Children’s Dental Center”) addresses this large unmet health need in our county: they provide dental services for children in low-income families. These services range from preventative care, including exams and cleanings, to restorative care like fillings and crowns. Tolosa Children’s Dental Foundation (TCDF) relies largely on community support and funding to meet the needs of as many children as possible and provide this essential service. One of their upcoming fundraisers will take place on February 25. “Sip For Smiles” will be an evening of wine tasting and delectable eats that will benefit TCDF and the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation. Attendees will enjoy a gallery of original art by students at the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation inspired by the prompt “What Makes You Smile?”
