Our research told us “Ventura” means “fortune.” It’s no coincidence the four points of their new logo create the shape of a gem, with dots acting as map coordinates and the lines expressing the connectedness of the four cities. The lighthearted typography breaks the words out of a standard font and into an identity that reflects the area’s casual, happy, welcoming and stylish atmosphere.
This identity was launched in an integrated creative campaign that got to the bottom of what vacationing is all about. Whether you’re seeking a new outdoor experience, traveling with your family or getting away your girlfriends, it’s those small moments that disrupt your usual routine – falling off a surfboard, eating ice cream for dinner, laughing over a craft beer late into the night. Those fleeting moments, those special points in time… they’re the ones that stay with you forever.
And that’s the whole point, isn’t it?
Here’s what happened when we launched
“The Whole Point” campaign.
In 2016, Ventura County Coast saw hotel occupancy of 79.3%, Rev Par of $107.90 and ADR of $136.10.
2016-2017 advertising campaign saw 46 million impressions and more than 204,000 website visits.
The new brand received a Marcom Platinum award (highest honor in competition).
