“To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.” –Anonymous
Life is busy and if we’re not careful, we miss out on moments that inspire and evoke a sense of awe. Inspiration is vital for renewing a sense of purpose and pushing us toward creativity and achievement. It awakens thoughts and feelings; it drives ideas and brings people together.
In our agency, the pursuit of inspiration drives us to be the best we can be for ourselves and for the people around us. This directly impacts our team and our clients.
Have you ever thought about dedicating a whole day to inspiration? There are many places you can find it, including:
Friends and family
Meeting new people
Reading or watching other people’s stories
Trying a new activity
It’s hard to do, but letting go of preconceived notions and comfort zones is essential to embracing inspired moments. To develop a sense of wonder, it is necessary to surrender to new experiences. Be an adventurer, explore, experiment, take risks!
At Verdin, we love the idea of taking a whole day for inspiration. In fact, that’s what we’ve started doing this year. Each of our employees is given a day off around his or her birthday to pick an activity that encourages, motivates and inspires him or her – be it a lecture, volunteering, or trying something new for first time.
Verdin’s first Inspiration Day is in the books. Our Graphic Designer Liz took a day during her recent vacation to visit the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. The photo on the left is one of her favorite pieces that she came across: “The Encounter,” painted in 1951 by Karel Appel. “I love this painting because of its strong use of color, spontaneity, playfulness, and sense of freedom, which was a direct reaction to the era it was created,” says Liz. She adds, “Everything about the Rijksmuseum was inspiring.”
We can’t wait to see what the other Verdin team members come up with for their own Inspiration Days. Look out for our #InspirationDay posts @verdinmarketing – and inspire us by tagging us in your own inspirational photos!
